Concept:
In a dystopian future, where civilization as we know it is extinct and primitive societies
start building up again, the new gatherers start to collect what earth has to offer in order to create body ornaments and jewellery. This time around it is not shells, metals and precious stones that they find in abudance, but it is plastic debris that covers their land.
Intrigued by the flashy colours of this ficticious precious material, gatherers start collecting and assembling, transforming their findings into pieces that represent their identities and belonging to the planet they call home. The history of crafts, techniques and jewellery is rewritten.
In the beginning they found objects with holes to take advantage of, sliced colourful
tubes and learned how to make a chain.
They once were called markers.
